Mixed Reality

MR mixes VR and AR technologies, allowing our end users to experience a combination of the real and virtual worlds in the apartments. They could immerse themselves into the Sahara Desert, the Amazon Basin and even the snowfall in Hokkaido based on their own preferences. Apart from enjoying the amazing views in different parts of the world, more importantly, the end users could find their apartments to be much more spacious than they actually are. As mentioned, the average living size in Hong Kong is getting smaller and smaller and it is believed to be one of the best ways in tackling this housing crisis in terms of adequacy of flat size in Hong Kong. Currently, the immersion into the virtual world could only be achieved with the aid of the headsets, which is relatively bulky.

It is believed that along with the rapid technology development, the problem of heaviness could be settled gradually. Taking iPhone as the example, having such a mini-sized phone with many different functions apart from phoning and texting is deemed to mission impossible. However, this mission has been achieved finally with the advancement of technology. Hence, it is strongly believed that our end users could experience MR with the aid of the contact lens or even without any aids in the near future.

Omni Treadmill

The treadmill attempts to break the physical constraint of small floor area and gives the users a more authentic experience of living inside a big house where they can physically move around. Omni-treadmill is a device that enables the user to perform the locomotive motion in any direction - allowing for 360 degrees of movement.

Such technology already exists in the market. It uses a platform to simulate locomotion requiring the user to wear special shoes or shoe covers to detect their motion. The application is confined to the gaming industry at the moment which allows gamers to walk or run within the game they are playing.

It is believed in the near future, having the treadmill installed on the floor, our end users could have an even better experience. They could move around freely while immersing into the virtual world, not being restricted by the physical boundary of the apartment.
